Crit #2
Today was the formative assessment for the creative studio module, due to unforeseen technical issues where my iMac no longer turned on I missed the second crit group and the formative assessment for this module. After emailing all tutors about this issue from the module it was clear that I had missed the days crit groups and feedback. However, I have done my slides and had my script ready to explain my work that I was to present and I have the final crit group to be able to present these slides again to Roddy and my peers.

For my second crit review I was unable to participate due to technical issues but wanted to show what I had created during the weeks leading up to it. I started researching zine layouts and content styles by looking into the work by Julie Terry and Sian Beeton and their work with zines that include hand drawn hairstyles, different page sizes, pages and colours. It has given me a chance to work out what I wish my final zine to contain and how I wish for it to be presented. Moving on, I have also created a lot of digital work from a first set of images that I took in my home. Using Adobe illustrator and Photoshop to create new illustrations, aboriginal dot paintings and typography word paintings, these are all new techniques to new but quite simple to learn and add to my other portfolio of work along with content for my zine.
Here I have various screenshots from a home video that I shot whilst performing a photoshoot, I had planned on cutting my models hair for my images but decided to start a recording whilst performing the action of cutting the hair. I was able to present this to a set of peers and got some positive feedback on this type of work that I created. The way I lit the set worked well for both the images and video and that the video is a way to document my process of working in creating imagery. I am really pleased with the way the shoot went and was able to generate more imagery out of a 20 second video in the process.

I was annoyed that I wasn't able to participate my work for this crit review and have learnt to have backups of all my work on my hard drive and so I could present from my laptop and unfortunately I learnt the hard way. I am pleased with the work I have created during the past 2 weeks with my imagery and home video along with all my digital creations and learning new techniques and plan to carry on creating new ways of showing my work and generating more imagery to show for the final crit.
